BACKGROUND

Joy Tillis could easily identify and sing all the music and words to products in the local grocery store at the age of five - long before she knew what they were. Her love of music has lasted her entire life. She studied and still avidly plays piano, and sings in two concert choirs in Chicago, her home for the past 30 years. Joy received a BA in Creative Writing and Music from the University of Iowa after studying in their prestigious Writers' Workshop. She was Director of Public Relations for a national commodities brokerage firm for twelve years and a media planner/buyer for a Chicago commercial post production house for five years before starting WJOY Music Search & Licensing in 1991. Joy also served as event planner for the Womens' Advertising Club of Chicago and event consultant for the Chicago String Ensemble Board.
